Richard Thomas lives in Wales or Cymru in Welsh, one of the four constituent Home Nations of the United Kingdom. Richard grew up watching Science fiction shows like Star Trek, The X-files, Babylon 5 and his all time favourite Doctor Who. As a child this passion for Sci-Fi quickly evolved into an interest in space, UFOs and other esoteric subjects.
In 2004, he got three good A-levels in History, Religious Studies and English Literature. In 2006, while at university he discovered binnallofamerica.com and sent Tim Binnall an email that was featured in the binnall report mailbag (10.13.6). Later Richard sent another email that was featured in the very first edition of BoA: Audio Listener Feedback (11.4.6) and also helped contribute questions for the UFO Crash Retrieval Conference IV Special (12.2.6).
In 2007, he graduated from The University Of Wales Swansea with a degree in American Studies. After finishing his studies Richard stayed in touch and contributed some questions for British guests on BoA: Audio, adding to the emerging international flavour of the BoA brand, and on the Nick Redfern (12.30.7) edition of BoA: Audio was coined the BoA UK Correspondent.
In 2008 he began to write a fortnightly column for BoA. Soon after that, he started writing a Sci-Fi/TV related column for Stuart Miller’s Alien Worlds magazine. In 2009, he began to write a spin-off column to Room 101 for BoA, titled "Sci-Fi Worlds."
Richard is interested in all things strange and mysterious, but his big interest is in UFOs and parapolitics. Richard's favourite book on these topics is Richard Dolan's UFOs and the National Security State.
In his spare time Richard enjoys reading and uploading videos to his YouTube channel. He also enjoys listening to talk radio and watching documentaries, films and cult TV shows. In particular he is a big admirer of the work of Quatermass creator Nigel Kneale and Doctor Who writers Terry Nation, Stephen Moffat, Terrance Dicks, Robert Holmes and fellow former Olchfa School student Russell T. Davies.
