The Road to X-Conference

X-Conference Films

One often overlooked aspect of X-Conference are the films that are screened there. Why bother getting into some movies they show when you've got major Ufology names congregating in the building ? The answer is simple, as it is because the films are not just screened, but contain a Q & A with the filmmaker, often a big name in the field.

This year, there are four films being screened, The Phoenix Lights Documentary, Dan Aykroyd Unplugged, Stanton T. Friedman is Real, and Do you believe in Majic ? In each case, the creator of the film will be there to talk about it, Lynn Kitei for the first, David Sereda for the 2nd, and Paul Kimball for the final two.

I'm really looking forward to the Aykroyd film and will most certainly be buying it if I do not get to see the screening that weekend, but am hopeful to catch some of it. Sereda's appearance on C2C last year hyping this film and some scant clips I've seen make it look fantastic. I've been calling for an Aykroyd appearance on C2C for a while now and perhaps with the film out, we'll finally get it.

Also, being a certified Friedman junkie, I cannot wait to see Stanton T. Friedman is Real. From what I understand, it is a documentary about Friedman, a virtual biography, if you will. The good folks at X-Conference do not mention Friedman being at the screening, but I suspect he will show up.

The other two flicks look good, though I confess I am not a huge follower of the Phoenix Lights Case. I may swing by the Q & A afterwards to see what comes up. The final film, Do You Believe in Majic ? looks pretty good, but much like the Phoenix Lights, I'm not a focused researcher so digging into the case of MJ-12 is not a huge draw for me. That said, I will be sure to speak with Paul Kimball throughout the weekend at some point.

The Big Announcement

And now ... an announcement so big ... so big ... so big.

It's been one month in the making, discussed in secret amongst only a handful of living souls, parsed over by lawyers, and finally signed and sealed and soon to be delivered.

Yes, kids, binnall has been signed to an Exclusive deal to cover the X-Conference for the June issue of C2C's After Dark.

Sigh.

I've been holding it in, waiting for the okay from the "powers that be" to unleash the information. I don't have too much insight into it other than that, as it will be drafted following the X-Conference, but I can tell you that it is Exclusive to After Dark and thus, not reprintable on my website. You've got to subscribe to After Dark to get the article and I would recommend you do so, as this article should be my best stuff yet and this special edition of AD themed for UFOs is sounding like it will be a great read.

That said, there will be comprehensive coverage @ binnallofamerica.com with stuff that doesn't get into the article, which will surely be more formal than the laid back style of BoA. I have other big stuff planned for X-Conference coverage, but right now it must remain "in the black" until the time to spring it is right.

Thanks to everyone who has stuck with "tbr" and binnallofamerica.com as the fruits of our work have now begun to grow.
