It turns out that Knoor Rider wasn't the only Coast to Coast vehicle planned for this Fall's TV season. My sources in the TV industry recently told me about the original plans for the re-imagined Beverly Hills 90210.

It was supposed to be the perfect marriage: the struggling CW network desperate for some buzz and younger viewers and the powerful underground sensation C2C always looking to expand their market share.

Unfortunately, test audiences didn't quite understand how the lives and loves of esoteric researchers in Beverly Hills had anything to do with the original teen angst program from the 1990's.

And, once series lead George Noory started demading "Gossip Girl money," the folks at the CW quickly did a 180 on the esoteric elements in favor of hiring cheaper, unknown actors to tell stories more along the lines of the original Aaron Spelling show.
