Much like the recent Indiana Jones film, this year's big superhero epic The Dark Knight has roots in the C2C universe as well.

It all began during the "dark period" of recent Batman films (after the disasterous 1997 movie Batman and Robin). C2C Studios snatched up the rights to the franchise in hopes of bringing the dynamic duo back to the small screen for a Saturday morning TV show along the lines of the Adam West classic.

A few years later, a TV pilot was created with George "The Noor" Noory stepping into the role of the caped crusader and Richard C. Hoagland donning the tights as Robin.

Hardcore comic buffs were aghast when The Noor eschewed the traditional Batman mask in favor of "a more sensible turtleneck / cape ensemble." They were also dismayed by the show's storylines, which deviated from the comic book fare in favor of a more esoteric angle. The pilot saw Batnoor and Robhoags battling mysterious villian conglomorate "Skeptics, Evildoers, and Traitors Incorporated" (SETI).

Sadly, the TV show never gained traction as the networks passed on the pilot, saying that middle-aged men in tights have no place on Saturday mornings. C2C Studios, in turn, quickly flipped the rights to the Batman franchise back to another movie studio for a large profit.
