More Proof that Politicians are the Lowest form of Life

If you were paying attention to ufo news back in 1997, or have been studying it since and watching the documentaries about the Phoenix Lights on TV, then you have probably seen former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, giving his news conference about how the culprits had been discovered and then trotting out someone dressed in an alien costume. Oh yes, how the press laughed at that, it was exactly what they had been hoping for. Those of us who were paying close attention and hoping for real information, we were only sadly disappointed. But those who were actually involved as witnesses felt humiliated by Symington's display.

Now, 10 years later we find out that Symington actually witnessed a large craft during the Phoenix event. Since he was the Governor of Arizona, which for some reason automatically gives him creditability, he could have come forward back then, told what he saw and demanded real answers. Instead, he never breathed a word about what he had seen and let those who were brave enough to admit having seen something end up looking like a bunch of crazies who couldn't tell flares from a huge, solid object flying over their heads.

What reason did Symington give for his fake alien stunt and not coming forward before? This is what he had to say:

"I wanted people to lighten up and calm down, so I introduced a little levity. But I never felt the overall situation was a matter of ridicule."

Leaving aside the ridicule part, the huge V shaped crafted he witnessed was something unexplainable, in his own words:

"It was enormous and inexplicable. Who knows where it came from?"

Yet after witnessing such a thing all he can do is worry about people calming down? Why should people calm down and why should they be lied to about flares just so they will calm down? Apparently Symington doesn't believe that the citizens of this country have a right to know the truth. They should just believe what they are told and be calm no matter what has taken place. It isn't like the city of Phoenix was freaking out either, there were no riots in the streets, people got up and went to work and lead their daily lives as normal, they were only asking for the truth. The one thing they were asking for was something that they never got and that their Governor helped to keep from them : the truth about what was flying in the sky that night.

It seems to me that the citizens of Arizona should be able to file some sort of legal suit against Symington. Yes, I know they probably legally can't, but if someone as Governor of a State sees a huge unknown object flying around their state, something that they have no way of knowing isn't dangerous, the proper response is to demand to know what it was. You may not get any answers, but at least people know where you stand and if you aren't willing to make a big deal about a huge, unknown object that is flying over your state then you don't deserve to be Governor of that state. Symington should have been on every news outlet, he should have been telling about how he saw the object and that it wasn't flares and that he wanted the truth just like everyone else. I guess that wasn't really what Symington wanted, he didn't care about the truth, if he had things would have been different.

So why is he bothering to come forward now? My guess is that he hasn't been getting enough attention because I see no other reason for him to do so. What possible good does it do for him to come forward 10 years later and no longer Governor? None, just another witness, one of many.

If Symington is looking for forgiveness from me and just about any other ufo buff, let alone the people who actually witnessed the ufos, it ain't going to happen. If he were anything other than a politician, people might believe he is just stupid, but being that he was a politician most people will believe whatever he did was done to better his career or line his pockets. I have checked out the blog posts, nobody is buying the trying to calm people down excuse.

So Symington, you are about 10 years too late and nobody really cares other than the fact that you have reawakened all the humiliation and anger people felt back then.

From Anderson Cooper's 360 -

SYMINGTON: The lights were really brilliant. And it was just fascinating. I mean, it was enormous. It just felt otherworldly. You know, in your gut, you could just tell it was otherworldly.

SYMINGTON: I still, behind the scenes, tried to investigate it, but I got nowhere.

You are not going to get any answers from "behind the scenes," the squeaky wheel gets the grease, as they say. What did Symington get from behind the scenes? I would imagine a suggestion that dropping the matter would benefit him and being a squeaky wheel would not.

Otherworldly. You bastard.
