Yahootie

A couple days ago, as I write this, I had another strange experience to add to my other strange experiences. We took our dog for a walk at about 1:30 in the morning, that alone would be strange for a lot of people, but not us. We are almost home from our walk, we are really directly behind our house when I hear a noise coming from the sky that I think is a airplane. I look up in the direction of the noise and there is nothing. I search the entire sky and there is nothing. It was a clear, bright night and the noise was loud enough that I would think it would be a fairly low flying plane, maybe one coming in for a landing.

I don’t say anything and instead wait to see if my SO will notice anything. Mostly I don’t want to say anything because I am tired of always being the one to point out strange happenings. Sure enough though, a few seconds later he is also looking at the sky for a plane and finally turns to me and says “is it a invisible plane?” I say something like “apparently so.” We stand there listening to this sound and we decide it doesn’t sound quite like a normal plane, it is more of a hum that slows and gets fasters, gets louder and quieter. We stayed out there for about 10 minutes, as I said the sound was coming from the sky and from the same place a little west of us the entire time. When nothing else happened we decided that we couldn’t stand out there all night and headed home and went inside. The sound lasted for at least 10 minutes longer once we were home, I could even hear it slightly over the TV.

Later I sent Peter Davenport a email about it. I didn’t hear back from him. The following day I searched the internet for reports from others that had experienced anything similar. I came across a report that I had posted on my blog a couple months back of snowmobilers experiencing something very similar. Like us, they had heard a hum coming from the sky, but saw no craft. Eventually they saw 3 bright flashes of light coming from where they were hearing the hum, but they still saw no craft and then the noise began to move away until it finally was totally gone. This report can be found at http://www.rense.com/general69/invis.htm and was taken by Peter Davenport. That was the only report I found of someone actually having a similar event happen to them.

Then I decided to search for “invisible aircraft” and see what I would come up with. Not a lot, but a couple articles by Charles R. Smith, one at http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/1/14/222343.shtml. Charles reports on a aircraft called "Yahootie.”

He said, “The U.S. may very well possess an advanced version of Yahootie, a surveillance aircraft that reportedly uses a combination of lights, low-noise engines and radar-absorbing skin to render itself practically invisible in daylight.”

“Not only is the aircraft invisible to radar, but also its skin is layered with an array of high-intensity light panels that broadcast the same output as the sky around it.”

I also happened upon a document at http://csat.au.af.mil/2025/concepts/900276.HTM. It is apparently the description of a research paper, this is what it says -

These academic research papers are works in progress. The views expressed in these papers are those of the authors and do not reflect the official policy or position of the United States Air Force, Department of Defense, or the United States Government.

Document Id: 900276

Concept Category / Medium: Special Operations / AIR

Concept Title: Invisible Aircraft

Description: An invisible aircraft will allow the US to meet its special national goals and objectives which are difficult to accomplish by other means. This can include low intensity conflict or transport of the President or other VIPs.

Advantages: Advancement of stealth technologies and the resultant spinoffs to the commercial world.

Countermeasures: Anti-stealth radar, lasers, liquid chemical analysis, etc.

Commercial Applications: Electromagnetic microwave technology advancement, magnetics, transporters and alternate dimensions-the forth dimension and beyond.

I have no idea what that means, but it seems interesting. I suppose there is a way to request the document, but I haven’t a clue what it is.

So is that what I heard, a invisible aircraft? I have no clue what else it could have been. I suppose it shouldn’t be surprising that if such a thing does exist that it would be flying near my house (though I would say it was hovering, not flying from the sound of it), I do live only a couple miles from Manzano and Kirtland AFB. Also, I live outside the city so they would probably think there is less of a chance of someone being out to hear it in my more rural, lightly populated area. Or, maybe they decided to give me something new to write about.
