The Swiss Mystery Watch of China

As everyone knows, I love esoteric news. That said, it is rare when a story really captures me, really makes me want to know so much more than what is there on the page. It did happen last week though.

The story was "A Time Traveler's Lost Piece?"

Archeologists were excavating a Ming Dynasty Tomb, believed to have been sealed for the last 400 years or so, and came across a very modern looking time piece.

From the article --

"When we tried to remove the soil wrapped around the coffin, a piece of rock suddenly dropped off and hit the ground with a metallic sound," said Jiang Yanyu, a former curator of the Guangxi Autonomous Region Museum.

"We picked up the object, and found it was a ring. After removing the covering soil and examining it further, we were shocked to see it was a watch."

It would be one thing if the ring was found just laying on the ground. In that case, we could assume that one of the workers dropped it, but it was actually encased in the soil around a coffin that even if it dated from the end of the dynasty would be almost 400 years old, but could even be 700 years old.

I suppose one could think that a grave robber somehow got in there, but, to my knowledge, nothing was disturbed and how did his or her ring get encased in the soil around a coffin?

The ring itself is even odd. There is no mention of a brand name on it. I have never seen a watch, even the super cheap ones that didn't have a brand on the dial. This one is engraved "Swiss" on the back, but nothing else.

I would love to know what size it is because it strikes me as something more likely that a woman would wear.

Another thing just pure speculation and for fun: according to some, the CERN large haldron collider is the first step towards time travel. No, I have nothing to hold that connection aside from the word "Swiss" on the back on the ring.

On an interesting note though, there have been caucasian mummies found in 2000 year old Chinese tombs (a quick google will tell you more). What if these people did not actually travel by land and sea to get to China, but instead they time traveled?

It will be even more interesting if any of the burials in this tomb turn out to be caucasians.

The only other clue we have that an esoteric mind could put any meaning on is the time on the dial -- 10:06. According to numerologist Glynis McCants that would work out to the number 7, which is a number of mystery. This is something McCants website says about 7 -- They have an air of mystery and do not want you to know who they are. Perfect!

Off Topic -- Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah or whatever you celebrate at this time of year!
