BoA:Audio mainstays Larry Flaxman and Marie Jones return to the program for their annual paranormal jam session. In this year's installment, we'll cover their new book The Trinity Secret and all the weirdness surrounding the number 3. Then we'll go off the page and get into revelatory discussion about problems and annoyances surrounding ghost hunting and the paranormal community as a whole. We'll also learn about the impending feature film which Larry and Marie wrote, hear about Larry's encounter with a 'tramp-stamped' man, and, collectively, share a lot of laughs as well.

It's a tremendously raw edition of the program which takes you to the proverbial conference bar as we 'keep it real' with Marie Jones and Larry Flaxman.

Full Preview: We kick things off with a brief catch-up from Larry and Marie and then dive right in to their latest book The Trinity Secret. We find out the origins and impetus behind the subject of The Trinity Secret, which explores the pervasiveness and power of the number three. Larry shares his take on why the number three is so pervasive and why the world has this triunal theme running in so many areas. Marie responds to the Devil's Advocate take that perhaps 3 is popular because it is a simply a simple, basic number. She speaks to the religious aspect of the trinity as well as how it relates to the duality of humanity as well.

This leads to some discussion on how the number three can be found throughout nature and other areas where man's hand has not specifically placed that triunal effect. We then tease the 'Secret' of The Trinity Secret and Larry also talks about the religious aspects surrounding the number three. We begin to break down the 4th wall a bit as we reflect on how The Trinity Secret runs along the same lines as Marie and Larry's previous books, where they explore some of the more arcane areas of esoterica.

The conversation then turns completely meta as we talk about the response of the paranormal community to Larry and Marie's work. Larry talks about what he sees as a pair of problems facing the paranormal community, notably in the ghost hunting field, and Marie responds to what she sees as an overwhelming emphasis on 'image' over actual investigation. Along those lines, we reflect on how ghost hunting has gone the way of a hobby or social gathering, rather than an actual investigation into the nature of ghosts.

Smashing the 4th wall completely, we find out about how Larry and Marie actually just met for the first time this Summer and Larry shares a bizarre and hilarious story of seeing a man with a 'tramp stamp.' Marie also vents about self published books in the paranormal community as well as the issue of paranormal media oversaturation in general. Getting back to ghost hunting, we examine the issue of how ghost hunting has really reached a plateau of actual evidence and, after all these years and all these ghost hunts, there really hasn't produced a serious, tangible breakthrough.

Jumping from the previous point about ghost hunting and actual evidence, Larry goes into 'rant mode' and talks about his disgust with groups that claim to be 'scientific' ghost hunters. To that end, he stresses the important of environmental dynamics in actual ghost hunting. This segues into Larry discussing how it is actually more important, and possibly more fruitful, if we turned the ghost hunting gaze back towards the observer to see how they may be causing the phenomenon.

We then end up talking about ghost hunting reality shows, specifically Paranormal Challenge. Marie talks about her possible participation in the show and she would hope to accomplish if she appeared on it. This circles back around to the duo's hopes that the paranormal community's perspective will change and how that informs their grousing about the way things are today.

Next we talk about 19 hz, which is a movie written by Marie and Larry that is currently in pre-production. They talk about the origins of the film and give us a teaser about its plot. We then dig into the many, many other projects that Marie and Larry are currently working on, including an anthology on various paranormal subjects. Marie and Larry also preview their next book, which covers time travel, and they talk about the difficulty in doing the research as well as what areas they plan to explore in the book.

Heading towards the close, we return to The Trinity Secret and find out if there was much backlash to the 'new age' message that encompasses the 'secret' of the book. Marie tells us about the backlash she received when she wrote Psience and that the duo got from the book 11:11. Wrapping up the discussion on The Trinity Secret, we have Larry and Marie give us an ultimate tease for the 'secret,' without spoiling the surprise. Closing out the conversation, we revisit what's next for the Paraexplorers as well as the upcoming speaking appearances for the duo.
